Measuring and evaluating human performance improvement interventions continues to challenge many practitioners. While it is a challenge, learning leaders are increasingly expected to articulate the business impact of training initiatives. According to the latest ASTD State of the Industry report, U.S. organizations spent nearly $135 billion on employee learning and development in 2007. Real value for these expenditures must be demonstrated.

This presentation takes a four step approach to discussing factors critical to the Measuring and Evaluating Core Competency; 1) a definition of human capital, 2) a case study to identify the quantifiable benefits, 3) converting the benefits into dollars, and 4) applying these techniques to a real-world intervention.
